Dominique B. Hess
Dominique B. Hess studied English, Business Administration and Mathematics at the University of Bern (Switzerland). Between 2015-2019 she researched on a project focusing on the history, development and structure of Saipanese English in Micronesia as a PhD student at the English Department (University of Bern). Beginning in 2019, she had worked as a research assistant at the Center for the Study of Language and Society (CSLS) for three years focusing on a dialect/ethnolect project on youth language in Switzerland. She currently works as a research assistant and lecturer at the University of Teacher Education in Bern.
Research interests
Her research interests include sociolinguistics, (grammatical) language variation and change, varieties of English, studies of contact languages, youth language, language planning and policy as well as language immersion teaching.
