In this workshop, we will cover the basic steps involved in publishing academic research. Topics to be covered include the basic scope and structure of academic articles in sociolinguistics, the submission and review process for scholarly journals, and how to plan a publication strategy over the course of a longer project (e.g., a PhD). Before the workshop, registered participants will be asked to submit a brief (ca. 300-word) abstract for an article that they would like to get published. We will look at the abstracts together during the workshop.
