The Doctoral Colloquium is composed of three sections designated for the presentation and discussion of approaches of prominent invited speakers and two sections intended for the presentation and discussion of PhD projects of doctoral students.

The three sections are organised in pairs. Within each section, two invited speakers will introduce their own approach to argumentation analysis on the basis of the same empirical discourse fragment. Participants will thus get the opportunity to assess the comparative advantages of each approach.

The Colloquium is open to all doctoral students of the Walter Benjamin Kolleg interested in argumentation analysis, as well as to PhD students of Swiss partner universities (Basel, Zurich, Fribourg, Neuchâtel, Geneva, Lucerne, Lugano). In addition, advanced MA students of the University of Bern interested in argumentation and coming from various disciplines are welcome.
